Massage Therapy
A massage therapist focuses on the normalization of soft tissues affected by stress, injury, and illness through the use of manual techniques that improve circulation, enhance muscular relaxation, relieve pain, reduce stress or promote health and well-being.

"Massage provides tremendous therapeutic benefits. Scientific research shows that massage reduces heart rate, lowers blood pressure, relaxes muscles and improves range of motion, just to name a few benefits. Massage compliments traditional health care by soothing a number of ailments, such as stress, arthritis, hyperactivity, backaches and headaches"

CranioSacral Therapy
CranioSacral Therapy is a hands on therapy that uses very light touch. CranioSacral Therapy works to enhance the performance of the central nervous system, and to bring balance to the body. CranioSacral therapy works to remove restrictions within the membrane and fascial systems of the body. Imbalances or restrictions within the CranioSacral system can cause sensory, motor or neurological impairments or dysfunctions. Once treated, the central nervous system can function at a more optimal level.

The craniosacral system is comprised of the membranes that surrounds and protects the brain and spinal cord and cerebrospinal fluid. The craniosacral system includes the bones attached to the membranes, extending from the skull all the way to the tail bone. It also includes the connective tissues (fascia) which are the main support frame within the body.

CranioSacral Therapy complements the body’s own natural healing abilities. It also views the individual as an integrated whole person, not just parts. Releasing restrictions can help alleviate a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction including:

Migraines and Headaches
Chronic Neck and Back Pain
Stress and Tension Related Problems
Chronic Fatigue
Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction (TMJD)
Tinnitus (ringing in the ears)
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorders
Learning Disabilities

Lymph Drainage Therapy
Lymph Drainage is a light rhythmic hands on technique designed to stimulate and cleanse the body's fluid system.
Lymph Drainage is used to help maintain a healthy immune system by:
increasing active fluid circulation, draining toxins, stimulating the lymph system, and stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system. It is also very helpful in reducing pain and muscle spasms.

TMJD
TMJD is a temporomandibular joint dysfunction is named for a group of symptoms that affect the jaw joints. These may include:

Pain
Ringing in the ears
Headaches
Limited jaw opening
Grinding
Popping
Clicking
Muscle tension in neck and shoulders

Massage and CranioSacral Therapy are very effective in the relief of symptoms related to TMJD. As the muscles and fascia begin to stretch and decrease tension pain begins to diminish.

Massage/CranioSacral Therapy will enhance any therapy you are receiving from a dentist, including wearing of a dental splint.
Many years of working in the dental field has given me a unique perspective in addressing TMJD symptoms.

About the therapist:
Pam began working as a massage therapist in 2001. Prior to this she was a Certified Dental Assistant for many years. As a dental assistant she worked very closely with patients and dentists. Along with studying massage she studied CranioSacral Therapy and Lymphatic Drainage from the Upledger Institute. Along this journey it became evident that many people could benefit physically, mentally, and emotionally from therapeutic body work.

Therapeutic Bodywork is a way to Relax and Renew ---Mind, Body and Spirit.

Pam works with children and adults. She works with clients at all levels: from relaxation, specific pain areas, chronic pain, head ache, TMJD, over use syndromes. Each person is evaluated and treated as an individual with his/her own specific needs. An integration of modalities can be used while working with clients depending on their needs. These may include CranioSacral Therapy, Lymphatic Drainage, Reiki, Heart Centered Therapy, myofascial work, Swedish Massage, deep tissue massage.
